Welcome

According to the National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK)  there were 18.2 million diabetics in the U.S. in 2002 and over 150 million worldwide.  With this in mind, the value of a truly non-invasive blood glucose monitor will be widespread and dramatic.  Children and adults who are reluctant to perform "finger stick" blood tests several times each day will have instant access to test information 24 hours per day while wearing a painless, accurate monitor.

MinforMed L.L.C. was formed in 2000 solely to work on non-invasive blood analyte measurement devices.  As a diabetic, CEO Dr. Edward Wuori has a personal interest in truly non-invasive blood glucose measurement and he believes he can develop such a device.  The MinforMed team includes experienced and well-qualified people serving in areas such as engineering, biochemistry, regulatory, business and marketing along with MD advisors.  Private investors supported this initial effort, and MinforMed moved into its current facility.  Additional funding was obtained with a Phase I grant from the National Institutes of Health.   Our vision of the future is the development of non-invasive diagnostic products that can be successfully marketed to medical and health care providers and ultimately directly to their patients.  MinforMed describes this stream of products as the "Road to Glucose", because the goal of the company is to introduce a truly non-invasive, self-calibrating glucose monitor to diabetics.
